Legal Information

WHAT IS AN UNDERWRITING INSURANCE AGENCY?

Orca is an underwriting insurance agency (also known as an insurance intermediary) that represents certain different insurance companies as their agent.

As a general underwriting insurance agent Orca has a number of tasks, duties, obligations and rights in relation to each of the respective insurance companies it represents, as well as for the policyholders and insureds. Orca is registered with the Danish FSA.

Orca is authorised to accept risks, i.e. write and accept insurance on behalf of, the insurance companies we represent. This includes stipulating premiums, terms and conditions for the individual insurance policies. We can issue policies on behalf of the insurance companies.

Each of the policies is issued by Orca and will state which insurance company assumes the risk. While Orca has the right and the obligation to perform customer service, including claims handling, it is the insurance company that a policyholder or an insured person has a claim against.

Accordingly, you have the direct and full advantage of the fact that all the insurance companies which Orca represents have minimum credit ratings of A-level with Standard & Poor’s and their equivalents.

INSURANCE COMPANIES WE REPRESENT

We currently operate as part of the Neon group of companies, which itself operates Syndicate 2468 at Lloyd’s of London.
